As DTH service providers are moving a step further towards HD DTH service, and then one of the leading DTH service providers Airtel can't lag behind in this race for sure. Airtel DTH HD service is soon going to be launched in India before Commonwealth Games.

While Bharti Airtel's DTH venture will launch the HD service, which offers better picture and sound quality compared to the regular service, before the games, Dish TV plans to launch its service in the first quarter of next fiscal.

HD set-top boxes (STB), which offer wide-angle viewing, are considered particularly suitable for watching sporting events and action movies.
For the Airtel DTH HD service, Airtel will also have a 360-degree marketing campaign, featuring brand ambassadors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The company will also leverage its existing bundling tie-ups with LG and Samsung.For DTH firms, HD set-top boxes promise a lucrative revenue stream as they will be priced a bit higher than traditional devices and carry higher monthly charges.
